Wooden Overcoats Season 2 Will Launch in October
On Tuesday 28 June, just after noon in the UK, Wooden Overcoats crossed the £8,000 line and secured funding.
The rules of Kickstarter dictate that the project only gets funding if it gets all the funding. So why choose Kickstarter? It was a gamble. Other crowdsourcing sites exist but they have a lower success rate reaching that final goal. And we have budgeted to the penny! We rolled the dice and, thanks to you, it paid off. That's really, really good. Not least because a season of Wooden Overcoats takes the better part of a year to make which is why we've been working on Season 2 for months now, welding our fingers crossed in the process!
Thank you everyone who pledged and continues to pledge. You've done so from all over the world. What a wonderful creature the internet is.
And what's that? Another Piffling Lives? Check your podcast feeds! In the final Piffling Livesepisode, Professor Virgil Sodbury reads and analyses his late brother's greatest work: Island of Passion. It's ghost written by Rosie Fletcher, you'll remember her as the author of Piffling Lives: Random Mouse. Looking for more Fletch? Rosie and her sister Jessica do a fantastic podcast with loads of back episodes to catch up. Go subscribe to Rosie and Jessica's Day of Fun right now!
There are four days left which means we have time to secure at least one of our stretch goals! If we raise £10,000 (€12,125 / $13,470), we will make a Christmas special exclusively for you, our backers, Rudyard Ruins Christmas. Not yet donated? Make sure you drop even just one pound in the pot so that you'll get access if/when it comes out. At time of writing, we are on £8,825 - this is an achievable target.
Oh, and on Tumblr, you asked for a video of Antigone getting a hug if we crossed the finish line. Our top negotiator, Beth Eyre, has had a long chat with the camera-shy Ms Funn who eventually agreed to pose for a portrait.
We do have some footage we think you'll like.
SEASON 2 SNEAK PEEK
Our thanks to Anna Lore from The Bright Sessions for opping the camera.
Our thanks to you for securing Season 2.
