What began as an idle idea on a bridge in 2014 last night raised £10,272.
We are astonished, we are stunned, we are delighted, we are... mostly still in bed. We're grateful to every backer, everyone who has recommended the show to others, everyone who has given anything, be it a pound or a hundred pounds or more.
Now the baton comes back to us. Scripts are in the draft stages, moving back and forward between writers; character breakdowns are being finalised; we're working out when we can hold readthroughs and how much time we can give ourselves between those and our recording dates; one of the producers did a handstand.
And here's a little news we've been keeping under our hats. Wooden Overcoats is coming to the London Podcast Festival at King's Place on Sunday 25 September at 9 PM.
Over a long weekend, the festival will feature your other favourite podcasts from both sides of the Atlantic including My Dad Wrote A Porno, Judge John Hodgman, No Such Thing as a Fish, The Guilty Feminist and The Allusionist. They've got an excellent deal going - you save 25% when you book 6 or more London Podcast Festival events.
It will be your first opportunity to hear any of Season 2 as we'll be reading the first episode then opening the doors for a Q&A. We expect tickets to go fast so book now to get yours.
