Wooden Overcoats is a podcast sitcom about competing funeral directors on an overlooked channel island. It is a lavishly produced audio comedy in eight episodes from the UK with a host of established and rising names.

Podium Finish

As Team GB continues to astonish across the Atlantic, we are getting ever closer to our recording dates for Season 2.

This week, a gold medal to our casting director, Sam! Breakdowns went out and applications answered, 417 of them to be precise. Applications are now closed, thank you all the actors and agents who answered the call. Sam is sifting through them and the directors will be seeing people soon.

Over on the writing front, more top of the podiums to the writers, and head writer David in particular! He has requested no national anthem but will happily stand for the Columbo theme. Tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday we'll be holding our first readthroughs of the most recent drafts. This is an important stage in the process; it lets the writers hear how the lines fall - which jokes work, which don't, which need tightening or retooling. Wooden spoon to Felix "Rudyard" Trench who had to bail from the readthroughs at the last minute this week to shoot an advert in Germany. The generous Peter Wicks (who you may know as our Live Shows Reverend) will be sitting in for him and we are considering making them fight later.

And a final medal to the Bluebird Tea Company who have sent us a mixed batch to enjoy during the recording. We can't wait!
