Recording Season 3 Part 2
We finished the bulk of recording on Tuesday evening.
All that's left is one episode from the season, plus Rudyard Ruins Summer, our backers-only summer special.
Between now and recording those in January, the producers will be going through hundreds of hours of recording and starting to put the show together. They'll also be sitting down with the Piffling Philharmonic, our pocket orchestra led by James Whittle, to record the music.
This year, we welcomed back loads of familiar Piffling faces and met a few new villagers to boot! Stay tuned to find out who we've added to the cast. Spoilers: they're brilliant.
And of course Antigone, Rudyard, Georgie, Madeleine and Eric are all back in spades. This season is taking all the characters to new places, all of which brought new challenges for the actors to tackle.
Behind the mics, we could not have got the show done without our script supervisor Amelia Donovan who kept on top of the Byzantine puzzle of different takes, retakes, actors forgetting how to talk, walkie talkies trying to get involved and, at one point, the unexpected arrival of a faint French radio station broadcasting through the cables.
Nor could we have managed without our runners Nina Kruse and Gabrielle Watts who kept the studio running with incredible efficiency.
We can't wait to come back for one more day in Piffling at the beginning of next year. Recording days are our favourite thing to do and we feel privileged to be able to do them.
